JOB OPENING – HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

The Town of Bennington is accepting applications for Truck Driver/Laborer. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid NH CDL-B Driver’s License, be dependable, and a team player. Previous plow experience, use of power equipment, ability to lift heavy loads, work nights and weekends as needed, willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather, and the ability to follow instructions and safety procedures are required.

The successful applicant will be subject to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, criminal background check, and Department of Motor Vehicle record check.

JOB OPENING – ROAD AGENT

The Town of Bennington is accepting applications for the position of Road Agent. Responsibilities include supervision, coordination, and participation in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roadway infrastructure, bridges, grounds maintenance, and Transfer Station functions. Road Agent is expected to operate equipment and participate in daily projects as well as manage the Department. Applicant must possess a valid NH CDL-B Driver’s License and be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather. The successful applicant will be subject to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, criminal background check, and Department of Motor Vehicle record check.

Minimum qualifications include at least eight years progressively responsible experience in road and bridge maintenance work and a minimum of three years supervisory experience; State of NH Solid Waste Principal Operator Certification for Transfer Station Management; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
