PUBLIC NOTICE

 TOWN OF BENNINGTON

 Effective immediately: Per RSA 227-L17 Burn Permits Required. Every person, firm or corporation who kindles or causes to be kindled any fire or burns or causes to be burned any material except when the ground is covered with snow, shall obtain a written fire permit from the Forest Fire Warden in the town or city where the fire will be kindled. Violators are guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $2000 and/or up to one year in jail, or both.

2014 seasonal campfire permits will be automatically delivered to 2013 seasonal permit holders on April 19, 2014. As always, you are invited to contact Chief Mike Roina at 562-5258 for permit acquisition, questions or any public safety concern.

 TOWN OF BENNINGTON

PUBLIC NOTICE

 Effective March 15, 2014 all Class V & VI roads within the Town of Bennington will be posted with a 6-ton weight limit. The posting will remain in effect until road conditions improve. Home deliveries are exempt; requests for special exception should be directed to the Road Agent at 588-2660. A restoration bond may be required for an exemption to be granted.

Dear Customer/resident

The Water Department will be doing on going repairs & maintenance to their standpipe starting on March 17,2014 and will continue until approximately the end of April. During this scheduled repair work, customers may experience rusty or discolored water. The commissioners are aware that this problem may exist, but the scheduled work is needed at this time.

TOWN OF BENNINGTON

WINTER PARKING BAN
Effective November 1 through May 1, no vehicle shall be parked on any street in the Town of Bennington from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., nor parked on any street in such a manner as to impede snow removal. No person shall stop or cause to be stopped or park a vehicle in a manner which interferes with any snow removal operation regardless of date and time. Vehicles found to be in violation of the Parking Ordinance may receive a summons and/or may be towed by the Bennington Police Department.
