TOWN OF BENNINGTON

 June 26, 2014

Due to a State-wide shortage of lifeguards, the Board of Selectmen
have made the unfortunate decision that there will be no lifeguard
coverage or swim lessons this summer at Whittemore Lake. The
minimum staffing requirement is two trained personnel per shift;
the Town only had one qualified applicant.

The Town pledges to keep the beach well maintained; additional
“Swim at Your Own Risk” signage will be installed.
