The Town of Bennington, NH, located in the Monadnock Region, is seeking candidates for the position of Police Chief. The current Chief is retiring after 20 years of service with the Department. This is a full-time salary-exempt position with an excellent benefits package. The Bennington Police Department is a community-oriented law enforcement agency serving a population of 1,500 residents.

This Police Chief position is that of a “working” Chief who will perform administrative duties as well as take an active part in law enforcement duties and patrols while working closely with residents, businesses, schools, emergency services, and the region at large. All applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional moral character, strong work ethics, be a NH full-time Certified Officer and willing to reside within a fifteen minute commute to Bennington. Preference will be given to applicants possessing a post secondary education or equivalent and have prior supervisory experience.

The Town of Bennington is accepting applications for a part-time Transfer Station Attendant who will be responsible for overseeing the residential recycling of solid waste. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess excellent customer service skills. Solid Waste Operator Certification Level 3 will be required within six months of hire; loader/backhoe experience desired although not required. Salary commensurate with experience; position is staffed for 20 hours per week and includes mandatory Saturday and Sunday attendance.
